Essayists
Some people would call this page a "blogroll", but that doesn't seem quite right for categorising what the people here do. For lack of a better word*, I prefer to think of them as essayists.
An essay is an attempt - constrained enough to force a level of rigour and creativity, but flexible enough to allow any idea to be conveyed. Montaigne is often cited as the archetypal essayist, and the posture he adopted - of honest exploration, clarity of thought, and attention to the fundamentals - seems essential.
This isn't 'content'. An essay is short enough to consume in a sitting but deep enough to be transformative. Many of the most profound and practically important things I've ever learned have come in this format.
This is a collection of people I admire who consistently try to create in this manner.
